The study conducted by Emanuelle Dufour builds on education as a critical tool for Indigenous reconciliation, culture revitalization, empowerment and ownership. It is the first major research initiative to seek to analyze the program implemented by Kiuna Institution—the only postsecondary school in Québec to offer programs and services that are entirely designed and adapted for Indigenous youth. Her findings aim to further the reflection and directions of institutional and government decision makers in Indigenous education, particularly by focusing on the promotion of Indigenous cultures.
