Abstract

"The magazine aparté | arts vivants [Aside: Living Arts] is a dissemination platform for research and creation in the living arts. A space for critique and discussion, it presents quality reflections on current issues in the arts and contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the field."

For the first issue, Véronique Hudon brought together the knowledge and practices of researchers and creators from different disciplines – dance, theatre, art history, sociology – in order to bring new understanding of works that go beyond traditional channels and where life is an integral part of the creative act.

In creating the magazine aparté | arts vivants, of which she is both co-director and editor-in-chief, the student researcher wants to help build a strong and diversified cultural memory that focuses its attention on artists and works on the fringe of the institutional setting, thereby contributing to their legitimacy and recognition.
