Award-winning publication: lobal Perspectives on ADHD: Social Dimensions of Diagnosis and Treatment in Sixteen Countries (book)
Published at: Johns Hopkins University Press
Coedited by Angela Sofia Marques Castela Filipe and collaborators, Global Perspectives on ADHD is the first book to explore the social dimensions of attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) at an international level. Based on in-depth case studies conducted in sixteen countries, the book sheds new light on the historical development of ADHD and its shifts through different medical and educational systems. The work seeks to understand the variations in the definition, prevalence and treatment of ADHD, as well as the cultural dynamics and social factors that influence this global public health issue.
